HOME : CURRENT STUDENTS : ACADEMIC AND ENROLMENT ADVICE

The Engineering Student Centre can provide general advice on academic matters and enrolment issues for both new commencing students and current students.

New Students

Newly commencing undergraduate students, who wish to discuss their enrolment with academic staff, are encouraged to attend a university-wide Academic Advising Day on 12 February 2008. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions about program selection, choices available to them and what courses to enrol in.

Students will also be able to attend a lecture on general academic advice presented by Dr David Clements (Associate Dean Academic, Faculty of Engineering).

For more information on the UNSW Academic Advising Day please click here.

Students who are unable to attend the Academic Advising Day can contact their program office directly - see below for contact details and office locations. Students in Combined Degree programs should see the program office for which their enquiry relates. For example, if you will be enrolling in the Electrical Engineering/Commerce program visit the Electrical Engineering & Telecommunications School Office for matters related to the engineering discipline and visit the Australian School of Business for matters related to the commerce discipline. Contact details for the non-engineering disciplines are also shown below.

A useful resource containing detailed information about all the programs (degrees), plans (disciplinary streams) and courses (subjects) offered at the University is the UNSW Online Handbook. This includes information on program structure and what courses to enrol in for a particular program. The Online Handbook can be accessed at www.handbook.unsw.edu.au.

Students experiencing difficulty with enrolling online should contact the UNSW Student Services Enrolment Support Centre on 9385 1110 or enrol@unsw.edu.au. Students can also visit the Enrolment Support Centre in person. Please refer to https://my.unsw.edu.au/student/commencing/WhereToFindHelp.html for further information, opening hours and their location.

Current Students

Students currently enrolled in the Faculty of Engineering can drop by the Engineering Student Centre for general advice on academic matters, progression information, program and course information and selection. More specific advice is available from your program office - see below for contact details and office locations.

Students not in Good Standing or who are having difficulty with their academic studies are encouraged to make use of the many support services the University has on offer including the UNSW Counselling Service and The Learning Centre.
