UNSW Student Central
This is the public face of the University’s central student administration and it is the first point of contact for most of the administrative tasks you will need to carry out during your time as a student. Services include academic transcripts, graduations, examinations, advanced standing, direct admissions, fee information, special consideration, program leave.

International Student Services
ISS helps students from overseas adjust to living in Sydney and studying at UNSW. They offer a wide range of educational, social and recreational activities designed to promote understanding between people from different cultures. Support offered includes arrival briefings, peer mentoring, housing assistance, advocacy, referral services, ongoing support in personal well-being, and information on matters related to studying, immigration, employment and finances.

Accommodation
Accommodation Services Central assists students to find accommodation while they are studying at UNSW. They manage the University Student Apartments and Kensington College as well as assisting students in finding off-campus accommodation. They also provide general tenancy advice.

UNSW IT Services
The IT Service Desk is the central support point for UNSW staff and students requiring assistance with IT related matters. The IT Service Desk handles enquiries related to computer, telephone and network issues including email and Unipass enquiries. The IT service Desk is located on Level 2 of the Library.

UNSW Bookshop
Located in the lower section of the Quadrangle Building the UNSW Bookshop offers a wide range of books, both for academic study and general enjoyment. Search for textbooks by course code and purchase online or in person. Prices include a 10% discount on most books.

The Graduate Research School
This School provides a full range of services designed to support postgraduate research students. Services include admission and enrolment assistance, scholarships, thesis submission, changes to candidature, leave requests, graduation, skill workshops and seminars. Student Liaison Managers are available to meet with students to confidentially discuss any issues students may encounter during their time at UNSW.

Grants Management Office
UNSW Research Services facilitates the research efforts of UNSW staff by assisting with applications for grants and fellowships, the negotiation of research contracts and the administration of externally awarded funds. The Office also contains the Ethics Secretariat. Our team based approach provides discipline-specific support to Faculties while at the same delivering consistent, reliable and objective advice across the grant management life cycle.

The Learning Centre
The Learning Centre offers academic skills support to all students enrolled at UNSW. Services include individual writing consultations, academic skills workshops and resources designed to improve and polish students’ academic progress. All programs are free and consultations are confidential. The Centre also offers a range of learning and language assistance programs. Some students use our services because they are finding their assignments a challenge, others because they want to improve an already successful academic performance.

The Equity & Diversity Unit (EADU) at UNSW provides a range of services to students with disabilities as part of the University’s broader aim of providing a study environment that fosters fairness, equity and respect for all students. Legal Advice for Students
Students can obtain advocacy and legal advice through ARC via full time student support officers and solicitors. They can assist with academic issues and grievances as well as providing support and advice on matters external to the university such as tenancy issues, traffic infringements or Centrelink issues. They can also assist with

  • What is acceptable and unacceptable behaviour
  • Complaint procedures

University Health Care
The University Health Service offers a complete general medical practice bulk billed to Medicare. This service is open to students and staff and visitors on campus. PH (02) 9385 5425
