The first few weeks of university can be tough and intimidating, especially in a big campus like UNSW. Most students find adapting to the university environment to be difficult and in many cases it affects their studies.
Mentoring Programs are here to help overcome these issues. They can help you settle into university, provide support and ensure a smoother transition into university. They are a great way to meet new friends and build strong support networks. And, they are fun!
Meetings with mentors usually run for the first 6 weeks of Semester 1. If you missed the initial uptake during O-Week you can still find a mentor by contacting one of the coordinators below before the end of Week 2. Flexible First Year students can join a program in any School which they have some interest in.
We strongly encourage all students to join their School’s mentoring program and make the most of what they have to offer. Don’t leave it until it’s too late.
