Have you ever wondered what research is about or whether you would be interested in a research career?

To give you an opportunity to find out, The Faculty of Engineering has established Taste of Research Summer Scholarships.

Eligibility

• you must be a high achieving 3rd year undergraduate student enrolled in a full-time program (2nd year students may be considered in special circumstances).
• you must be enrolled in a relevant program at UNSW or another Australian University.
• you must submit an application form by 30 September 2008.
• you may be a local or an international student.

Benefits

• $458 per week allowance (tax exempt).
• UNSW Bachelor of Engineering students may use their Taste of Research Summer Scholarship as a contribution towards their Industrial training requirements.

Selection

Each applicant will be assessed on the basis of academic merit, interest in undertaking research activities, and intended career plans.

Availability

The scholarships are available in a variety of research areas for a period of 12 weeks, from 17 November 2008 to 20 February 2009.
