Introduction And Overview (2)

Budi Mulyawan, Wei Sheng Yong, Xuan Thanh, Nirupama Bulusu
Supervisor: Associate Professor Sanjay Jha

The Project:

The project goal conforms to the goal of SenSAR group founded in July 2003.

Develop underlying software/networking infrastructure for enabling sensor network applications

In particular, the project is to

Develop a locations tracking application for a small size wireless sensors network.

The project involves in a number of activities including:

  • Get familiar with hardware components such as programming board, mica2, stargate, lego robot.
  • Get familiar with tinyOS and developing applications under tinyOS using NesC
  • Measure RSSI (Radio Signal Strength Indication)
  • Implement localization algorithm (REKF) in Java.
  • Make GUI in Java
  • Carry out experiments
System Design

Plot graph estimation of all sensors positions

Estimation of sensors positions

Estimation of mobile robot path

Future works
  • Improve the localization algorithm to
    Provide better estimation
  • Develop further application using this
Project results such as robot path planning
    And shadow tracking
