The Faculty of Engineering Admission Scheme (FEAS) is for the admission of undergraduate students to UNSW Faculty of Engineering degree programs (including the BSc Computer Science and BSc Food Science & Technology).

FEAS Structure
The cut-off for admission to UNSW engineering programs in 2009 is expected to be a UAI (or equivalent) of 88.00. From experience the Faculty of Engineering has identified that a UAI (or equivalent) of 88.00 or above is an indication that domestic and international students who have completed an Australian Year 12 qualification have a good chance of success in our programs and these students will be considered for admission to UNSW Engineering programs on the basis of their UAI (or equivalent) only.
Below a UAI (or equivalent) of 88.00 the Faculty recognises that there are a number of factors which signal the potential of students to succeed in engineering programs. These factors include the UAI (or equivalent), ability in Mathematics, Physical Science, design and problem solving and attitude and motivation toward engineering studies.
Students who achieve a UAI (or equivalent) between 75.00 and 87.95 will be considered for admission under the Faculty of Engineering Admission Scheme (FEAS).

Interview to assess additional factors related to engineering studies |
If you anticipate achieving a UAI (or equivalent) between 75.00 and 87.95 then to maximise your opportunities for admission you are strongly encouraged to submit an application for an interview under the Faculty of Engineering Admission Scheme (FEAS). At the interview, you will be able to meet with Engineering staff, exchange information and show how you are suited to engineering studies.
Applicants who do not submit a FEAS application for an interview will be considered under Step 1 and 2 of the Scheme.
Both 2008 Australian Year 12 and other applicants (incl. IB, NCEA Level 3) are eligible to apply for FEAS Step 3. Domestic applicants who have undertaken post-secondary or tertiary studies (eg. TAFE, University) may submit an application but will not be required to attend an interview. For information on the UAC application process visit www.uac.edu.au.
The application form for the 2009 Admission Round will be available on this website from 1 August 2008. Applications close Friday 12th September 2008. Interviews will be held 29 September to 3 October 2008 at the University of New South Wales in Sydney.
Please note all domestic applicants must still lodge a UAC application for admission, and all offers are made through UAC (www.uac.edu.au). International applicants who are completing an Australian Year 12 qualification – whether in Australia or overseas – must lodge a UAC application for admission, and all offers are made through UAC (www.uac.edu.au)
