Being a student at UNSW is a great opportunity to meet people who share the same interests as you and to make new friends. The easiest way to do this is to join one or some of the many clubs and societies.
Engineering Societies
All Schools within the Faculty of Engineering have at least one student society. As well as holding social events, they
provide academic and mentoring support and guidance on careers and industry. Take a look at the various
Engineering Student Societies as well as the national and professional engineering societies with UNSW chapters.

To find out more, visit the Student Development Office on Level 1 of the Roundhouse or use the contact information
on the Arc Club List.

Each School within the Engineering Faculty has a Mentoring Program to help you make a smooth transition to university life. It's also a good way to make friends and start developing networks. We encourage all students to join their School's mentoring program.
Meetings with mentors usually run for the first 6 weeks of Semester 1. If you missed the initial uptake during O-Week, you can still find a mentor by contacting one of the coordinators below before the end of Week 2. Flexible First Year students can join a program in any School they have an interest in.
