Flexible First Year
Engineering now offers a flexible first year for all Bachelor of Engineering degrees in the Faculty of Engineering except Software Engineering and Bioinformatics. This program is designed for those students who wish to study engineering but choose to delay their choice of which branch of engineering to study until the end of Year 1, at which time they must transfer into one of our Engineering programs.

Bachelor of Science (BSc)

The Faculty of Engineering also offers two science degrees:

Concurrent Degree

Biomedical Engineering is offered as a concurrent Bachelor of Engineering (BE) / Master of Biomedical Engineering (MBiomedE) that takes 5 years to complete.

“Combined degrees” combine two undergraduate degrees, whereas this “concurrent degree” integrates a full BE with a Masters program, which is taught from year 2 of the BE / MBiomedE.

Combined Degrees
The Faculty of Engineering offers a range of combined degree options, which many engineering students choose to do to broaden the scope of their careers. Engineering degrees can be

DipSET
The Diploma of Science, Engineering and Technology (DipSET) is a one-year program that provides a flexible pathway for students who show the potential to study engineering, but who have a range of gaps in their assumed knowledge and consequently do not meet the necessary entry requirements for Engineering and Science.
