Outreach To Students

We offer future students a hands-on introduction to engineering courses and engineering as a career through:

  • Summer and Winter and Autumn Schools
  • Forums
  • Activity days
  • Open Days

To encourage diversity in our student population, the Faculty of Engineering actively supports:

  • rural students
  • indigenous engineers
  • women in engineering.

RURAL STUDENTS

Students in rural areas often have a strong interest in engineering but don’t have the opportunity to study close to home. The Faculty of Engineering Rural Scholarship Program is designed to enable students from isolated and rural communities to study at Australia’s leading Engineering Faculty and to assist with living away from home expenses so that they can more easily focus on their studies and university life.

WOMEN IN ENGINEERING

Traditionally, women have been under-represented in the engineering arena. To redress the balance and attract high-achieving women to the Faculty of Engineering, various women in engineering scholarships have been established.

SUMMER AND WINTER SCHOOLS

Summer and Winter Schools provide future students with the opportunity to learn more about the engineering profession, to meet engineering role models and to discover career options. The Faculty of Engineering is actively involved in the following:

Engineers Australia Residential Programs

NATIONAL YOUTH SCIENCE FORUM

The Faculty of Engineering at UNSW is a partner of the National Youth Science Forum for Year 11 high school students, which provides interactive presentations and insights into tertiary study, employment opportunities and career options.
