
A wide variety of Scholarships are available to both new and current students within the Faculty of Engineering. These Scholarships are allocated on merit and though performance at interview, with individual circumstances and personal attributes also taken into account.
A scholarship provides many benefits. It allows students to focus on their studies and to participate in university life, by relieving the pressure for paid work.
The Faculty of Engineering has a strong relationship with Industry partners allowing for a wide variety of scholarships, including a number that provide invaluable industry training opportunities.
There is also a range of UNSW scholarships to consider, including the UNSW Co-op Program.

A number of scholarships are available to encourage and assist students from rural and isolated areas to undertake full-time undergraduate programs in the Faculty of Engineering. The scholarships share the same general conditions:
Scholarship applicants are assessed on the basis of interview performance, academic merit and personal qualities (for example, extra-curricular activities, evidence of leadership skills and potential to contribute to the wider life of the University). Economic circumstances which may make the transition to UNSW difficult may also be considered.

As part of the Engineering Rural Scholarships Program several on-campus student residential colleges set aside some of their first year places for successful Engineering Rural Scholarship applicants. If you wish to be considered for these places you must apply direct to each college of your choice by their closing date clearly indicating that you are applying for the Engineering Rural Scholarship Program.
UNSW Co-op Scholarships provide industry training and professional development and are available for a number of programs in Engineering.

The program is possibly the first of its kind in Australia. The Scholarship was established to encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to undertake undergraduate study in the Faculty of Engineering. Applicants must have completed the HSC (or equivalent) in the year prior to the year of the award and be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.
Selection is based on academic merit, the reasons for undertaking the proposed program and potential to contribute to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. Consideration will also be given to any social and/or economic circumstances which might otherwise hinder successful transition to UNSW.
A new award is only offered when the current recipient has ceased to receive benefits.
This scholarship is to encourage Indigenous Australians to undertake full-time undergraduate study in a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering/Combined Electrical Engineering programs in the School of Electrical Engineering & Telecommunications, UNSW.
