The Faculty of Engineering Rural Scholarships

  • $9,500 pa
  • Up to four years, subject to satisfactory progress

A number of scholarships have been established to encourage and assist students from rural and isolated areas to undertake full-time study in an undergraduate program in the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW. The scholarships share the same general conditions: The applicant’s family must have lived in a rural or isolated area for at least four years of the applicant’s high school studies and the applicant should have attended secondary school in a rural or isolated area for at least four years. Further, applicants must be completing the New South Wales HSC (or equivalent) in the year of the application or the previous year (but must not have commenced tertiary study). Applicants are assessed on the basis of interview performance, academic merit and personal qualities (for example, extra-curricular activities, evidence of leadership skills and potential to contribute to the wider life of the University).
