The Faculty Research Grant Program (FRGP) is a Faculty-based scheme that is administered through the Faculty of Engineering and The Early Career Researcher Grants Program (ECRGP) is administered through the Faculty of Engineering and funded via the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research) Both are designed to meet the following objectives:

• support development of competitive applications to an external research funding agency, including industry linkage applications;
• support area/s of research strength or emerging research strength ;
• support cross-disciplinary research (between two or more schools or two or more areas of strength);
• support research by early career researchers (ECR)
• support research by new staff (first 2 years at UNSW) and early career academics(ECA).
