UNSW is extremely successful
in securing national competitive grants such as Australia Research
Council (ARC)1 Large
Grants and collaborative research funding, as well as industry
and other community grants. UNSW ranks amongst the top Australian
universities in terms of per capita research grants and publications
output and conducts government- funded joint research with major
overseas universities.
The Faculty of Engineering plays a major role in developing
and maintaining UNSW's national and international research
status with ARC Large Grant projects and Special and Collaborative
Research Centres. The Faculty benefits from the presence of
significant numbers of distinguished visiting academics from
Asia, Europe and North America and has important links with
overseas universities for both teaching and research.
