The School of Photovoltaic and Renewable Energy Engineering delivers the world's first photovoltaic and renewable energy engineering degree programs. The need for the degrees has arisen due to rapid growth and evolution in the photovoltaics industry in recent years, with considerable demand by industry for University of New South Wales’ (UNSW) developed technologies and appropriately trained engineers across the entire photovoltaic and renewable energy sectors. The School includes the Australian Research Council Centre for Advanced Silicon Photovoltaics and Photonics (also known as the ARC Photovoltaics Centre of Excellence).
